My first piece for PFATT Marketplace, "Uncle Sam" Gourd

I'm very pleased and excited to be joining the PFATT Marketplace today! I will be in company of such awesome artists..
This Uncle Sam is 12" tall. He is made using a gourd with clay to sculpt his face, beard, arms, bow tie and hat. He was painted, aged and sealed..I added just a touch of sparkle with gold "buttons" and a brush of red glitter paint on his bow tie!
Sam's head is not a gourd, just his body..:)

If you would like to purchase Sam head over to

Fun Times and Hard work!

Well it's been awhile since I've updated this blog, or had a heck of a lot to say..LOL
I am happy to report that after all the turmoil of last year, I have bounced back and feel like myself again, which is a great feeling!
Many exciting things have happened for me this year. I took  the plunge, risked my ego and submitted a Dia de los Muertos
bride doll to Art Doll Quarterly, for their "Bride Doll Challenge. Much to my excitement they publishing it in this months issue..A first for me!
I also will be joining PFATT Marketplace on May 10th, and that's very exciting to me..and the Big News is..I am a participating artist in the "Halloween & Vine" show in Petaluma, Ca..September 28!!! I will also be participating in GLITTERFEST again in October.
So work wise things have really picked up for me, and I have learned not to be so bashful and apply myself :)...I guess even at 58 we are never to old to learn!
I feel creatively inspired again and it feels wonderful after being in such a slump for so long.
Thank you to all my friends who have encouraged me all the way.. and stuck by me at my worst last year..
Now it's back to work for me :)
