A Couple New Things...and Better Photos!

The top picture is a bunny that will debut on April 1st on " 'Arts a Flutter"...I only showed the top part of her, because there's some goodies on the base and I'm saving the whole pic for the new mag :)

The next pic is a clay Bee..I made a couple of these for the Show next week..I used Vintage Rick Rak for his " stripes"...

I am also making an effort to take better pictures...LOL..I know, some of you are probably saying " it's about time!"....:)...So i am experimenting with different backgrounds...Not sure if I like the one for the Bee picture..LOL

I haven't posted much lately..but i'm still around! I have a show next week I'm busily creating for...AND I am building the new " 'Arts a Flutter" online magazine which has it's Grand Opening April 1st :)
I will try to post some pictures tomorrow of things I've been working on!
Just never enough hours in the day...

Why Do We Torture Ourselves ?

It's 80 degrees outside, here in Southern California..My Huge Wisteria has 100's of blossoms just starting to open, my Bird of Paradise is coming back to life, Palm Trees have new fronds...Spring is definitely in the Air..
I should be outside planting some annuals, doing some patio clean up, cleaning my pool..soaking up the beautiful day! But noooo, not me...I am inside in my sloppy clothes painting away..trying to meet deadlines! I have paint in my hair (I don't know how that happens)...The doorbell rang and it was a rather nice looking man who needed to change the Electric Meter in my back yard...So I put my Dog in the house , and as I was walking to the side gate to let the guy in..It dawned on me I didn't even brush my hair yet!
I am so sick of bunnies, chicks and eggs I could scream..and Easter is still at least 3 weeks away. I'm tired of Pastel Colors to..LOL..At first I was really diggin' the light colors for a change..now I'm ready to head straight into Halloween...the black, orange, green..purple, all the dark rich colors.
My arthritis in my hand is killing me from smoothing clay..my work room looks like a bomb went off..and I'm restless as all hell :)
Spring Fever maybe?...could be..I think I need a break...LOL..but can't afford the time to do so..Not for 2 weeks...
So I sit here and I wonder why on Earth we do this to ourselves..and I know I'm not the only one..LOL

The Dancing Skellys...WIP

Well here's " The Mrs". They both still need work, but I think they are coming along nicely..Getting her shape gave me a few fits, and so did the ruffle along the bottom of her dress...well ok, so did her hands..LOL.

I have learned alot, and I have enjoyed challenging myself as well.

She will be wearing that black feather boa, when she is completed :)..

The next piece is a Halloween cat with a vintage feel..(I think)..LOL

"Ain't it Funny How Time Slips Away"......

No truer words were ever spoken, or in this case, sung! I have been holed up in my work room up to my elbows in clay, or at this machine trying to keep up with everything. The new and last issue of " A Time for Primitives" is open! Everyones offerings look great!
I'm working on the new magazine now and while I have several clay pieces drying...I'm working on the "door" prize for the grand opening..and in between all that I'm trying to get ready for a Spring Show next month...LOL. I will have to admit, with my husbands new truck driving job..I have more time to work :)...Yes, I miss him..LOL..he's gone for a couple days at a time and during those days I don't have to stop working to make breakfast, lunch or dinner :)...I don't have to go sit with him in the evening and watch something stupid on the Idiot Box..LOL..I can just work! I love the man dearly, really I do...But he just doesn't "get" when I'm on a "creative roll" and need to keep going, because if I stop for too long , i'll lose it..in more ways than one..LOL
